Project Basho is pleased to announce ONWARD ‘10, an annual juried photography competition exclusively featuring the work of new and emerging photographers with unique vision and talent. The theme for ONWARD is open, and any photographic medium from historical processes, traditional silver prints, chromogenic prints to digital prints can be submitted for consideration.
Viewbook PhotoStory 2009 challenges conceptual and documentary photographers around the world to create compelling stories with a linear series of photographs in an online gallery. The annual online competition aims to discover inspiring, high-quality photo stories within the photography community and bring them to a broad audience. Viewbook PhotoStory functions as a premium platform for emerging talents to face the establishment.
The competition is all about the art of shooting a strong series, making a critical selection, determining the right order, writing captions and an appealing title. And it’s about the impact that a photo story has on the audience. The submitted photo stories will be judged by an international panel of industry professionals. Viewbook PhotoStory is a public online event that everyone can be part of. Every visitor to this site can comment and vote on their favorite photo story. The first prize winners receive international publications & lifelong subscriptions with a value exceeding $12,000. There are special prizes for the public winners. Every year the best photo series gets exhibited and published in the annual Viewbook PhotoStory book.

Dit jaar schrijft Hollands Diep voor de tweede keer een fotografieprijs uit, deze keer met het thema ‘Het naaktportret’. Een selectie van de inzendingen is te zien in het decembernummer van Hollands Diep – met natuurlijk veel aandacht voor de prijswinnende fotograaf.
